Redheaded Nicola Roberts returns to Girls Aloud for reunion tour

What better way to kick-start 2024 with a Girls Aloud tour?

Yes, you read that correctly! The redheaded beauty, Nicola Roberts, will be taking to the stage again!

This week, it was announced that Girls Aloud will be reuniting for a huge UK and Ireland tour next year.

The tour revelation comes as a tribute to their late bandmate, Sarah Harding, who unfortunately passed away during her battle with breast cancer in September 2021.

Before the reunion tour was announced, Nicola posted a cryptic post on her X account, formerly known as Twitter, which made fans go WILD.

The clip that was posted on the redhead’s social media page, depicted an old-fashioned vintage film countdown on a projector. Nicola captioned the clip with the emoji version of the number 4.

It is safe to say that the post made Girls Aloud fans go crazy, with one fan commenting “Tour announcement???”

The remaining bandmates that will performs the classic hits, include Cheryl Cole, Nadine Coyle, Kimberly Walsh and our personal favourite – Nicola Roberts.

In a statement, that spoke of the band’s reunion, Cheryl said: “We all started talking about the possibility of doing something to celebrate Girls Aloud’s 20-year anniversary a few years ago. The anniversary seemed like an obvious thing that we would celebrate. But when Sarah fell ill all priorities changed.”

Cheryl continued with: “She passed away a year before the anniversary and it just didn’t feel right, it felt too soon. But now, I think there is an energy that does makes it feel right.”

“It’s the right time to celebrate Sarah, it’s the right time to celebrate the band and the right time to celebrate the fact we can still do this 21 years later. That’s a big honour in lots of ways,” Cheryl added.

The singers warned fans that there would be no new music or videos that will come to light during the tour, considering “making new music without Sarah would be odd” – Cheryl confirmed.

The pre-sale for tickets will commence on Wednesday 29 November at 9am. The general sale for all tickets will be opened on Friday 1 December, also at 9am.
