Doctor Barbie
In the new Barbie movie, Doctor Barbie is played by the famous Hari Nef who is an actress, model and activist.
Doctor Barbie is known for being a powerful and independent woman who was Barbie’s first call when her foot went flat!
Accessories:
First, let’s talk accessories. Doctor Barbie is always decked out in expensive jewellery, usually earrings in the shape of hearts or pearls and a chunky necklace.
Doctor Barbie also loves to decorate her hair. I mean, who wouldn’t want to draw attention to their ginger locks!
On top of her chunky necklace, of course, Doctor Barbie wears a stethoscope.
Outfit:
When she is working, Doctor Barbie also wears a white lab coat over a pink dress that is, in true Barbie fashion, covered in sequins!
All that matters is that the bow is there and the dress shines in the light!
In Barbieland, there can never be enough pink, so why not pair Doctor Barbie’s giant bow dress with some pink heels.
Midge
Midge is probably the most famous redheaded Barbie of all time, purely because she was the very first ginger Barbie produced by Mattel.
Although she was discontinued, Midge appears in the Barbie film and is played by actress and filmmaker, Emerald Fennell.
Of course, every Midge costume has to have a pregnancy bump – whether that be the real deal or a cushion strapped to your stomach!
Hair:
For the complete Midge look, you will need to plait the small front sections your hair on each side of your face.
Outfit:
While she is well known for being pregnant, Midge is also known for her purple and floral dress.
Like everything in Barbieland, nothing is realistic. So again, in true Barbie fashion, heavily pregnant Midge finishes her look off with a pair of pink high heels!
Allan
The first Allan doll was introduced in 1964, just one year after Midge, and he is known as Ken’s best friend and Midge’s husband!
Allan was originally named after the son-in-law of the co-founder of Mattel, Ruth Handler, and was the first redheaded male to join the OG members of the Barbie clan.
In the Barbie movie, Allan is played by Michael Cera who is most famous for appearing in teen movies including Juno!
Outfit:
Allan is widely recognised for his rainbow-coloured shirt, which many say is a link between the character and the LGBTQ+` community.
While Allan is referenced to as Midges husband with he/him pronouns, many fans of Barbie believe that Allan is in-fact non-binary, and queer and his PRIDE-looking shirt reflects this.
To draw attention to his multicoloured shirt, Allan dulls his bottom half down with a pair of basic blue swimming shorts.
Who doesn’t love a simple pair of sliders? They’re cheap and cheerful and if you want to look like Allan, you have to love them too!
