Fashion trends for redheads in 2024
Fashion trends are ever evolving. Take last two years for example, it is clear that red hair has been trending for a while now.
In 2023, from Bridgeton Actor Phoebe Dynevor, Model Kendall Jenner, Rapper Doja Cat to TV Personality Stacey Solomon, celebs all over the globe have been decked out with carrot tops.
Fashion experts have even said that red hair will be trending this year, so we are already one step closer to being a fashionista in 2024.
While 2022 was all about having flaming locks, more of the deeper and darker shades that will come into the spotlight this year.
One thing about redheads, is that we can become lazy in the fashion world. Redheads love to use their hair as a fashion statement, and rightly so, but by focusing on our hair too much, we can often neglect out style.
Believe it or not, your style is more than your hair colour. Ginger hair is a huge part of your identity, but it won’t “look too much” if you want to be stylish too.
Because come on, we can’t just keep using our red hair as a fashion statement. Let’s show these newly-dyed redheads how it is really done!
What if I told you to put the hair clips and the hair bands down. Just relax on the hair styling and wear clothes that compliment your hair instead!
What fashion trends should we be looking out for this year?
Pops of Colour
As we said earlier, you can expect to see many more box-dyed redheads this year. While it’s a compliment to see an international and newfound love for ginger hair, I don’t think people know what they have got themselves in to.
Fellow redheads, we all know the fashion struggles that red hair brings.
We all know how hard it has been and how long it takes to find a perfect colour palette that matches your shade of redness – one that complements your hair but isn’t “too much”, one that doesn’t wash you out, one that isn’t dominated by autumnal tones – the list goes on.
Don’t get me started on how to style orange without looking like one!
It’s a journey for sure!
But this year, pops of colour are trending and we have the upper hand!
Think about it, every redhead has already spent so many years figuring out what colours they can and can’t wear!
Incorporating colour into your style is a great way to highlight your hair colour, whether that’s by wearing items directly next to your hair, like a bright a scarf or t-shirt, or wearing a pop of colour to subtly bring our your redness, like a pair of bright shoes or a bag.
For a pop of colour close to your hair: Blues, Greens, Browns.
For a pop of colour away from your hair: Oranges, Reds, Pinks.
Shades of Green
Hallelujah! Shades of green are trending this year and we couldn’t be happier about it!
By now, I am 99% certain that ever redhead owns more than one green item. I mean, come on, is wearing green not like a uniform for the less than 2% club?
Think about it, fashion experts encourage redheads to wear “earthy tones” and you can’t get more “earthy” than green!
Red, which was trending in winter, can move aside. It’s all about green. Emerald green, khaki, forest green and olive green are extremely complimenting when paired with ginger hair.
Green hues make redheads GLOW.

Ribbons or Bows
Okay! I know we said to forget about the hair styling for a moment, but bows are trending this year and we just can’t ignore it! Come on, could you imagine a ginger head of hair covered in bows made from ribbons…
Whether you want one, two, three or ten, it’s the colour of the ribbon that really matters.
Blue hues look great on redheads – especially navy and royal blue!
Greens, of course, are instantly flattering as they make red hair dazzle.
Brown will also bring out the warm tones in your ginger hair – any shade of brown will do!
Orange also compliments red hair, believe it or not.
