Those of you who were fans of Gone Girl (which, you should check out, despite its lack of redheads – the movie has a ginger cat, though) will be reeling right now, as the trailer for new TV series Sharp Objects has surfaced.
It offers a glimpse of HBO’s small-screen version of Gillian Flynn’s book of the same name, which is said by many to be dark, mysterious and, above all, chilling. Oh, and one other thing, too: it stars Amy Adams!
The Hollywood Reporter wrote their official synopsis, which reads: “For years, Camille (Amy Adams) hardly has spoken to her neurotic, hypochondriac mother or to the half-sister she barely knows: a beautiful 13-year-old with an eerie grip on the town.
“Now, installed in her old bedroom in her family’s Victorian mansion, Camille finds herself identifying with the young victims…a bit too strongly.
“Dogged by her own demons, she must unravel the psychological puzzle of her own past if she wants to get the story – and survive this homecoming.”
The eight-part series was originally planned as a full-blown film, but we’re very much of the standpoint that eight hours of gingers are better than two.
Check out the trailer below, and catch the series on HBO from July 2018!
