The realisation that you’re not invincible against that bright, glaring thing in the sky happens early on in a redhead’s life. This aversion to UV rays is important as soon as you’re born though, as your skin is much more delicate and vulnerable to sunburn when you’re younger.
Being safe in the sun as a redhead requires super-duper sunscreen that not only contains a high SPF, but is also suitable for delicate skin types, as babies and younger children are more likely to be sensitive to certain chemicals. For this reason, it is often recommended to go for mineral sunscreens, depending on the individual’s response to sunscreen ingredients.
In the name of protecting young redheads from the sun as much as possible, we’ve rounded up some sunscreens designed for use on little redheads’ delicate skin. Remember to always look for UVA and UVB protection (which might be noted as ‘broad spectrum’).
And for less mess (and less complaining!) when applying, Solar Buddies applicators are refillable so you can load it up with upto 100ml of your chosen sunscreen product. Great for days out!
