Who can believe that Domhnall Gleeson is the same person who played the eldest ginger Weasley offspring in Harry Potter? Since helping to defeat He Who Must Not Be Named, natural redhead Gleeson has come a long way, turning his hand to many characters, starring in Ex Machina, Star Wars, The Revenant, and now supernatural drama and psychological thriller The Little Stranger.
Based on the 2009 novel by Sarah Waters and directed by Lenny Abrahamson (who won an Academy Award for Room), the film follows Dr Faraday (Gleeson) who has been called to a patient at Hundreds Hall, where his mother once worked. The Hall and the family living there are much changed to when Dr Faraday was younger, and much supernatural weirdness ensues.
Intriguing, right? Catch The Little Stranger in cinemas in the US from 31 August and in the UK from 21 September.
