Being a redhead all year round is great. In fact, it’s more than great – it’s the best!
But being a redhead in autumn, or in “fall” for all of our US readers, is particularly special. And yes, you all know exactly what I mean. Here are a few reasons why:
The autumn fashion colour palette is like nothing else, it is packed with earthy tones that were literally made for a redhead’s wardrobe. Think of all the different shades of green, blue, orange, red, and brown that you can be decked out in!
You can also incorporate the earthy tones into your make-up routine! A rust eye shadow or a burgundy lipstick would do the job.
Earthy shades are a winning combo for us redheads because they make our hair POP!

I am 99 per cent sure that, although it doesn’t seem like there are many to choose from, redheads have the best choice of Halloween costumes!
From Chucky and Hocus Pocus to Poison Ivy and Cheryl Blossom, whether you prefer a sexy costume or a spooky costume – Halloween is a redhead’s chance to shine.
Here are just a few examples:
Finally, we can have a break from smothering ourselves in sun lotion!
Although you should always apply SPF to promote healthy skin – yes, those UV rays are still there even on cold and cloudy days – but in autumn we can relax a little!
According to Verywell Health, “The UV Index is highest in spring and summer. It goes down in the fall and is the lowest in the winter.”
Now that the heat and UV rays are calming down – so can we!
The fashion palette is not the only holy grail of autumn. While we are all trying to find ways to best compliment our red hair all year long, in autumn the weather and environment literally does the work for us.
Autumn brings tonnes of orange tones – think of all of those leaves on the floor and on branches. And let’s not forget about small bursts of sunlight shining through the clouds that really add shimmers and glimmers to our multi-tonal shade.
It goes without saying, that our surroundings in this season quite literally reflect our inner (and outer) earthy toned colour palette.
The slight sunlight will make our hair glow, instead of making us sweat and burn! The range of burnt orange and yellow-ish leaves that cover the floor also make our hair pop.
If you haven’t felt your best at any point this year… autumn is the perfect season to boost your confidence. And if that doesn’t work out… There’s always winter!
