Halloween Costumes for Redheads: King Henry VIII

King Henry VIII may have been one of the most controversial characters of the 15th and 16th centuries, but one thing’s for sure: he was one badass ginger.

If you want to go all out with your redhead-friendly costume this Halloween, this royal ginger is a great choice for red-haired men (and women, if you fancy wearing false ginger facial hair)! Here’s how to get the look…

Medieval style tunic: £7.99 – make sure you buy a size that will fit over the top of pillows padding.

Topman: £95 or $175, or you can find any long, dark-coloured coat

Pier One at ASOS: £19.50

Missguided at ASOS: £12, $19 – wear lots of layered gold jewellery to show your royal ginger status.

ASOS: £8, $13

Other things you will need:

Pillows or cushions (for body padding)

String or rope (for the belt)

Knee-high socks

How to do it:

1. Before putting on your tunic, hold cushion padding against your stomach and use string to tie around your body to hold in place.

2. Put on your tunic, and use your rope or string as a belt over the top.

3. Assemble the rest of your costume: socks, slippers, coat, jewellery, and ginger beard, of course!
