Cartoon Redheads Wilma Flintstone And Scooby Doo’s Daphne Reimagined In New DC Comics

While human redhead characters in movies are important in representing gingers, cartoons are just as crucial in shaping society’s perception of those with ginger hair.

Scooby Doo reimagining

Here’s a peek at DC Comics recently revealed titles for Scooby Doo and The Flintstones – we’re pleased to say that while other characters may have had a massive makeover (ahem, Shaggy), redheads Daphne and Wilma (let’s also not forget Pebbles!) still have their recognisable ginger hair intact.

We like to think it’s because their red hair contributes so much to their personality: empowering, unforgettable and oh-so cute.

DC Comics have reimagined new titles for several famous Hanna-Barbera favourites, including Future Quest and Wacky Raceland. Copies are expected to go on sale from May 2016.
