The remake of Jesus Christ Superstar set to open at London’s O2 arena this summer will feature a piece of gingerness, with the eccentric and talented Tim Minchin playing disciple Judas.

The part of Mary Magdalene will be played by ex-Pussycat Doll singer Nicole Scherzinger, while the role of Jesus will be decided in a series of television shows, set to hit our small boxes in June.
The show has already caused a bit of an outrage, with the musical’s lyric writer Sir Tim Rice saying that voting for the “next Jesus” was “tasteless” and “tacky”.
