The Ed Effect: Ginger Men Get More Attention Thanks to Ed Sheeran

A new study has revealed that ginger men are being perceived as more and more attractive, and it’s all thanks to Ed Sheeran…apparently.

The poll, which was conducted by Casumo.com and involved 175 ginger blokes, found that one in five 25 to 34-year-old red-haired men have experienced more female attention since Ed Sheeran has been active in the music world.

This ‘Ed Effect’ isn’t necessarily restricted to just Ed Sheeran, though. A spokesperson for Casumo believes that the popularity of gingerness is tied to other well-known redheads, too. She said: ”Donning fiery red locks are popular among both male and female celebs with stars like Emma Stone and Isla Fisher leading the way for red-headed women.

“It seems that when it comes to gingers, the brighter the better.”

During the poll, 1000 women were quizzed on their opinions of red hair, and over a third agreed that there are now more positive perceptions of red hair. One in 20 revealed that they prefer ginger over other hair colours, too! Too right!

What do you think? Is red hair being perceived more positively these days?
