For those of you who haven’t heard us bang on about it before, Roodharigendag, AKA Redhead Days is an annual international festival celebrating ginger hair, attracting thousands upon thousands to Breda, The Netherlands.
Congregating together in the cute, cobbled-street city of Breda, gingers from all over the world join to meet, drink, chat and make friends, bonding over their rare genetic connection and love of red hair.
The Redhead Days packs a ridiculous amount of ginger love into one weekend, with plenty for natural and dyed redheads to get their teeth stuck into. So sink your teeth into our top picks from this year’s Redhead Days programme…
This is where the weekend begins! Promised to be jam-packed with live music from DJs and a band, the kick-off party is not to be missed.
Friday 1st September at 7.30pm at Café aan boord. Entry fee €3.50.
Ginger speed meet
The speed dating/meet session is a great way to make new friends, and hey, maybe you’ll meet the love of your life!
The activity is open to all hair colours, so go along for a fun and interesting way to meet new people.
Saturday 2nd September at 12-3pm at Valkenbergpark. Free entry.
Redhead pub crawl
Just picture it: scampering groups of gingers going wild, being lovingly led by a trusty and knowledgeable leader who is assigned to guide each group around the bars and clubs of Breda.
Expect to be very tired on Sunday morning.
Saturday 2nd September at 7pm, starting from the Kasteelplein. Entry fee €12.50. Sign up during the day at the Redhead Days stall at the Grote Markt.

After gathering at the Bordes Town Hall in the centre of Breda to witness the grand opening, all redheads walk en masse to be penned in with their fellow natural gingers for a giant group photograph.
