Festival Fashion For Redheads

Festival season is here in the form of Coachella and won’t stop for at least four months, so besides deciding what bands we want to see, we need to figure out another major dilemma: what to wear?

At music festivals, you’re going to be outside all day and probably standing a lot (in the sun, might I add), so you want to be comfortable (and sun safe). But you also want to look cute!

Fear not, there is a way to look hip and fashionable while also being comfortable, and the added bonus of staying covered up from the sun, my dear, pale redheads.

Bottoms

Jeans ASOS

Only at ASOS: £40 UK, $65 US

When it comes to bottoms, boyfriend jeans are always a good choice for comfort. They’re looser and more airy than skinny jeans, but still very fashionable.

A bit “I just threw this on” kind of cool.

Shorts ASOS

ASOS: £15 UK, $25 US

Shorts are also a good option, because depending on where your festival is being held, it could be very hot, and most of us don’t want to be standing around in jeans in the hot weather all day.

These jersey shorts are lovely and much cooler than denim. They will be comfortable and the scallop detail adds an interesting and cute look!

Pom Pom shorts

Glamorous at ASOS: £18 UK, $30 US

These shorts are also incredibly breathable. They feel like pyjamas, but look fashionable! This specific option is very boho chic: traditional of many music festival styles. Remember the sunscreen though!

Dresses

Green dress ASOS

ASOS: £38 UK, $62 US

Dresses are a fantastic option for music festivals because they look like you put a lot of effort into your outfit when really you just threw it on. They supply maximum comfort with the least amount of effort required, especially if you’re going to wear a flowy or maxi dress.

This dress is a great option because it flows nicely, it’s very boho, and it’s an olive green colour, which is not only a huge trend right now, but it also pairs incredibly nicely with red hair!

Shoes

New Look ASOS ankle boots

New Look at ASOS: £24.99 UK, $41 US

Ankle boots are really in style, and they are good for walking around for long periods of time. They still allow for a more chic look while still holding up for a whole day without us needing to let our feet take an ice bath.

ALDO ASOS sandals

ASOS: UK £50, US $65

Sandals are biiiig in festival fashion. Strappy heels and sandals are a huge trend in the world of fashion right now, and these nude ones will look good with any outfit.

Accessories

ASOS suede backpack

ASOS: UK £35, US $57

The littler the bag, the better, because you definitely don’t want to be carting around all of your stuff all day. Backpacks like this mini suede one are perfect.

ASOS orange satchel

ASOS: UK £12, US $19.50

Alternatively, a satchel like this mini orange one works just as well. It’s easy to throw over your shoulder, is the perfect size, and is adorable. Bonus: the orange of this purse will compliment ginger hair brilliantly!

River Island ASOS layered necklace

River Islands at ASOS: UK £10, US $16.50

And last but not least, don’t forget to vamp up your look with some jewellery! Long, layered necklaces are very “festival fashion”. Simple ones like this one add flare without being overwhelming.

River Islands ASOS leaf bracelet

ASOS: UK £8, US $13

Bracelets are a classic addition to any outfit. Ones with some fun detail like this gold leaf one add something interesting to your look without being too busy.

Ginge London hat

Ginge London: £24.99

Keeping your ginger hair and sensitive scalp protected from the sun is crucial, particularly for redheads. Luckily Ginge London offers some snapbacks and baseball caps to keep us protected and gingerfully attired!

Music festivals are laid back and fun, so let your festival style imitate the easygoing vibes with comfortable but stylish outfits. And please, always remember sunscreen, fellow gingers!
