She’s sweet, fiery and red-haired. She’s Gingerella!
As well as being a redhead, Gingerella is a crisp, non-alcoholic ginger ale, containing Mother Nature’s magical healer, ginger, and a blend of lemon, vanilla, sugar and spices grown by farmers in the developing world.
The beverage celebrates all things ginger with a Barbarella-esque firecracker who has just touched down in the UK, ready to fight for justice and support ginger growers from the Lunuwila Small Holder Society in Sri Lanka.
Gingerella is one of three organic drinks in the Karma Cola range, created by All Good Organics, a New Zealand based company that only trade in the good stuff; good for the grower, good for the land, and good for you.
The company’s ethos is to help 800 small farmers, who work together and stand up to middlemen and multinational companies to get a fair price for their crops, improve the health and productivity of their farms and the quality and quantity of their harvests.
In fact, All Good Organics has been named the world’s ‘fairest trader’ by Fairtrade International, a global not-for-profit organisation that oversees 27,000 products that carry the Fairtrade mark in 120 countries.
So not only does it taste good, it does good and you feel good, too. Plus, the bottle is kinda pretty.
And, to celebrate the arrival of sassy redhead Gingerella to British soils, Ginger Parrot is giving away five variety packs of the Karma Cola range (above): Gingerella, Karma Cola and Lemmy Lemonade to Ginger Parrot readers!
Gingerella is now available at selected cafes, bars and restaurants across the UK, priced from £2.25 for 330ml. For more information, visit Karma Cola on Facebook, or see www.karmacola.co.uk and allgoodorganics.co.nz.
