Ginger-fying the quickest and most graceful mythical creature with the best eyesight known to Middle Earth is about as cool a film can get.
Combine that with becoming the love interest of Orlando Bloom, and you’ve got yourself a cracking two hours on your hands.
The second part of The Hobbit series comes to life this winter, and you can imagine our excitement at the discovery that Tauriel (played by Evangeline Lilly) is a feisty, fearless redhead.
What else? Here’s Tauriel kicking butt…
Despite Lilly being a natural brunette, we think she pulls of the ginger hair extremely well! The particularly copper shade is as authentic as you can get, and team that with her delicate features and pale skin and it’s almost as if Evangeline Lilly was born on Team Ginger!
As with the first Hobbit movie, An Unexpected Journey, it’s gingers galore as the Celtic theme runs through the dwarf clan that Bilbo follows on their quest.
Even Stephen Fry dons a ginger wig and beard in honour of the movie, joining the positively red-haired crew on their quest to the Lonely Mountain.
What can we say? Peter Jackson has good taste.
Check out the official trailer above, and catch The Hobbit: The Desolation Smaug from 13th December in the UK and USA.
